Continuous Filler

The latest in acid fill technology designed for ease of use and low maintenance. Incorporating the new single chain design, driven by a variable speed drive achieving production rates of up to 18 batteries per minute. A single chain conveys the batteries and automatically tilts the conveyor to a predefined angle from 0 to 70 degrees As the battery is conveyed in an angled position, acid is dispensed in a continuous stream thru a numerically positioned manifold. The battery angle establishes a uniform level of acid in each cell. Auto-positioning for the battery angle and the acid manifold can easily be achieved for various battery types by user selectable settings from the PLC. The continuous acid filler is constructed with corrosion resistant materials and stainless steel fasteners for long life. The associated equipment includes an acid reservoir, dual pumps, dual bag filters and Allen-Bradley PLC. Motor electrics are 3ph., 50 or 60hz., voltage to be supplied by customer. The new Conbro Continuous Battery Acid Filler is designed to be used as a First-Fill and a Top-Off filler.

Volumetric Vacuum Filler

Processes 6-8 automotive type batteries. Built of non-corrosive materials this unit automatically indexes 2 batteries per cycle into the fill stations, meters a programmable volume of acid into each cell of the batteries, then indexes the batteries to the next process. Acid is pressure pumped from a 75-gallon reservoir to each battery manifold. This reservoir has a sensor level control to ensure acid is maintained at the desired level and has dual filters to ensure acid purity. The fixed orifice nozzles are positioned at the desired acid level in each cell and are easily positioned by an x-y adjustable control. Any excess acid in each cell above the nozzle tip is returned to the reservoir by an independent vacuum draw. Changeover time from one battery type to another is typically 3-5 minutes for the filler. Controls are by an Allen-Bradley SLC-504 PLC. Electrics are 3ph., 50 or 60hz, voltage to be supplied by customer.
