WIRTZ LOW MAINTENANCE LEAD DELIVERY SYSTEM
Typical standard assembly for floor mounted round and rectangular furnaces. (see illustration)

WIRTZ LOW MAINTENANCE LEAD DELIVERY SYSTEM
INCLUDES: Insulated Low Maintenance Electric Feedline with automatic temperature control. Wirtz low dross pump with shielded shaft, Wirtz patented lead valve and electric heated ladle.
System delivers lead directly form the pump to lead dispense valve and is capable of delivering 10 lbs of lead per minute.
Reduces dross development by as much as 70% through more gentle and uniform heating and reduced opportunity for lead oxidization.
Decreases heat radiation in the casting area by about 90% compared to an atmospheric gas feedline, thus reducing operator "Heat Stress".
Wirtz patented lead dispense valve accurately dispenses lead from the feedline to the ladle. Electric heated ladle is a tilting type with automatic temperature controls.
ELECTRIC HEATED FEEDLINE LOW MAINTENANCE
Developed for the low antimony alloys which require a very uniform temperature in the feedline. Eliminates cold spots in feedline which, in using todays low antimony alloys, usually plug up.
Heated section of feedline is below lead level in lead pot which eliminates cold unions above lead pot.
No disassembly of feedline or insulation in order to change electric heaters. Electric heaters slide in and out for easy replacement.
Low wattage and voltage heaters for longer life.
LOW RPM LEAD PUMP WITH SHIELDED SHAFT
Specially designed to provide positive lead flow at a low RPM to reduce the agitation within the furnace. The shielded shaft contains the agitation within a confined area, and has provisions for inert gas shielding, thus further reducing dross development.
AUTOMATIC LEAD DISPENSE VALVE (LDS)
The Wirtz Lead Dispense Valve accurately dispenses lead from a feedline to a ladle eliminating the need for an overflow return of lead to the melting furnace. It can be used effectively with a lead pump or a gravity feed lead system on all lead alloys. The valve does not allow air to be introduced into the feedline and substantially decreases dross build up in a feedline.
Elimination of overflow decreases dross in the melting pot and also decreases the amount of heat required to increase lead temperatures in a feedline.
The valve is automatically operated by a solid state timer which is interlocked with the machine, and it will not dispense lead unless the machine is running and the ladle has poured the previous grid. When the machine is stopped, the lead valve automatically closes. The amount of lead dispensed can be varied easily by adjusting the timer setting.
ELECTRICALLY HEATED LADLE
Available as a covered or open type and one stream sheet or several stream orifice pour depending on the type of alloy and mold being used.
Equipped with 3000 watt immersion heater with indicating type automatic control.
