IC-2B Right Hand or Left Hand Ingot Casting Machine. Machine to have cast iron molds. Cooling system includes manual shut-off valve, water strainer, solenoid water valve and built in manifold with spray heads. Water service 30 PSI at 30 GPM minimum. The integral drain basin has two drain connections, one on each side. Molds and Ingots are uniformly cooled with a fine mist from the bottom.
The Wirtz IC-2B can cast a wide variety of pig sizes, up to 100 pounds, at a variable speed of 6-14 pigs per minute depending on the number of molds selected for the machine. The IC-2B comes with a choice of 76, 100, 120, or 160 molds. A unique pouring device assures consistent weights and close tolerances.
The pouring ladle is a tilting type, operated by air over oil cylinder system with two timers and control panel. It will return to the "no pour" position in the event of loss of air or electricity. An upper bull ladle with drop tube and metering valve supplies the tipping ladle.
An air operated code stamping unit is mounted on the machine. One stamp holder for two (2) rows of four (4) characters and a numerical set of 0 thru 9 stamps are included. Machine is complete with air filter, regulator, lubricator, piping air valves, cylinders, NEMA 12 panel with flange mounted disconnect switch, controls and wiring on the machine. Extra strengthening of main frame with lower box chassis is included on the base machine.
A discharge conveyor with its own drive mechanism is recommended as optional equipment. The conveyor picks up each pig after ejection, places it right side up and raises it to a suitable height for removal to the stack.
When purchasing ingot mold castings customer is required to purchase up to 20% foundry overrun.
