Wirtz – Conbro Waterbath Formation Systems

Conbro is wholly owned and operated within The Wirtz Group of Companies and has been a market leader in lead acid battery formation equipment design and manufacturing for over 30 years. Battery formation is a very important step in the lead acid battery manufacturing process, and our system allows customers to control this process and prevent batteries from overheating.

General Operation:

• Batteries are advanced into the empty water bath tables either manually or automatically
• Once the batteries are in place and hooked up to the rectifiers, the cycle is started. This includes filling the bath to a set level, and recirculation water constantly inputted into the bath based on the water temperature in the bath.
• Water level control is either done using a manual fixture, or automatically controlled through the PLC program per the customer requirements.

Benefits of a Conbro Water Bath Table:

Standard 10’ sections are bolted together to the desired length specified by the customer based on needed capacity.

Polypropylene construction with acid resistant fasteners. The polypropylene reduces “sweating” on the outside of the baths when compared to metal waterbaths.

Patented Wirtz Seal Protection allows the baths to slightly expand and shrink, without damaging or losing the seal.

Available in manual (live rollers) or fully automatic (powered belting).

Fully automatic includes push on and push off mechanism to fully automate operation.

Ability to add waterbath divider modules between the sections to allow the baths to be split into smaller compartments.
